About Oribi Gorge Nature Reserve

Oribi Gorge is a 24-kilometre sandstone gorge on the Mzimkulwana River inland from Port Shepstone on the KwaZulu-Natal south coast, with cliffs up to 400 metres and forest on the slopes. It is best known for the adventure operators at the top: the Wild 5 gorge swing, abseiling and ziplines. The Ezemvelo reserve on the floor and rim protects samango monkeys, bushbuck and a good forest bird list, with walks, viewpoints and a small camp of huts. It is an hour from the beaches, which makes it a coast-and-gorge day.
