About Lowveld National Botanical Garden
The Lowveld garden sits at the confluence of the Crocodile and Nels rivers in Mbombela, an easy stop on the way to the Kruger gates. It is subtropical: a rainforest section, cycads, baobabs, the falls of the two rivers at the meeting point, and the garden birds and monkeys that come with it. Part of the national botanical garden network, it is a morning's walk in shade before or after the heat of the Lowveld. Mbombela and White River have the accommodation, and the garden combines with the Panorama Route or a Kruger southern-gate drive.
