About Loskop Dam Nature Reserve
Loskop Dam is a Mpumalanga reserve around the dam of the same name on the Olifants River, about two hours from Johannesburg on the way to the Lowveld. The reserve holds white rhino, buffalo, giraffe, sable and leopard in a mix of bushveld and grassland, with no lions, and the dam itself is one of the province's main boating and fishing waters. Boat cruises, self-drive game viewing and a resort with chalets and camping are the offer. It is a practical overnight stop between Gauteng and the Kruger gates and a weekend base for anglers.
