About Moremi Game Reserve
Moremi covers the eastern third of the Okavango Delta and is the part of the delta reachable by road, which makes it the classic Botswana self-drive: sand tracks between Xakanaxa, Third Bridge and Khwai, public campsites that must be pre-booked, and the mokoro and boat trips from the lagoons. It has one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa, with lion, leopard, wild dog, elephant and buffalo, and a bird list that peaks in the wet months. The dry season from May to October is the reliable time; the summer rains can close the tracks. It is a malaria area.
