Khwai Concession

Khwai is a community-run concession on the north-eastern edge of Moremi, along the Khwai River, managed by the Khwai Development Trust for the village of the same name. Because it is a concession rather than a national park, night drives, off-road driving and walking are allowed, and the river attracts elephant, wild dog, leopard and lion through the dry season. The camps range from public campsites to mobile safaris and lodges, and the money stays in the community. It is reached by 4x4 through Moremi's North Gate or by air, and it is a malaria area.
