Bwabwata National Park

Bwabwata runs the length of Namibia's Zambezi Region, the former Caprivi Strip, between the Okavango and Kwando rivers, a park where people and wildlife share the land under a community management model. The Mahango section on the Okavango and the Kwando core area on the western river are the wildlife zones, with elephant herds moving between Botswana, Angola and Zambia, sable and roan, buffalo, and the Horseshoe bend on the Kwando as the classic viewpoint. It is green and wet, a malaria area, best in the dry months from May to October, and reached on the tar road from Rundu to Katima Mulilo.
