Thakadu River Camp

Thakadu River Camp lies on the banks of the Marico River in the Madikwe Game Reserve, near Molatedi Gate on the Botswana border. The camp has an Afro-Asian safari style, and its main lodge is built on stilts among the riverine trees.

There are 12 luxury tented suites, each with a private deck over the river and an indoor bath and shower; four are family suites with an extra double sleeper couch. Breakfast and dinner are served in the main lodge, at a fire-lit boma on fine evenings, or at a lapa in a glade by the river.

Morning and evening game drives in open vehicles are led by qualified rangers through Madikwe, a malaria-free Big Five reserve.
