Wolwedans Boulders Camp

Boulders Camp is the furthest and most secluded corner of the Wolwedans Collection, an hour and a half south of the main camps among vast granite boulders where the dunes give way to open gravel plains. Five tented rooms sit low among the rocks with uninterrupted views, and the silence here is the kind that people travel a long way for: the NamibRand is Africa's first Wilderness Quiet Park and an International Dark Sky Reserve, and Boulders is its quietest address.

The camp runs seasonally. From 1 April to mid-November it takes individual bookings on a per person per night basis, with a two-night minimum and arrivals any day. Outside that window the whole camp is available on an exclusive-use basis for a single party.

Days are built around the desert: scenic drives, sundowners among the boulders, a full-day safari, e-biking and guided walks, with fairy circles scattered across the plains around camp. Rates are fully inclusive of all meals with house beverages and the stipulated daily activities, and transfers run to and from the Aandster airstrip rather than the main Wolwedans strip. Note that laundry is not included at Boulders, and the Heart and Home village tour is not run from this camp.
