Tsowa Safari Island

Tsowa Safari Island is a small tented camp on its own island in the Zambezi River, inside Zambezi National Park and about thirty minutes upstream from Victoria Falls. Guests are collected by open game viewer and then by boat, and from that point the camp is reached only by water: no roads, no through traffic, and a stretch of river that carries elephant crossing between the banks and hippo grunting through the night.

The safari tents are free-standing and set roughly twenty metres apart under deep riverine forest. River View Safari Tents sit on the island's edge with a small covered verandah looking across the water; River Deck Safari Tents take the prime positions directly over the river, and can be left open to the sound of it from a king bed dressed in white linen. Every tent has an en-suite bathroom with both an indoor and an outdoor shower, a fan, mosquito nets and a safe, and the camp runs on solar.

The rate covers the 4x4 and boat transfers from the pick-up point, accommodation, all meals, teas and coffees, house wines, sparkling wine, local beers and non-premium spirits, basic laundry, guided island walks and fishing. Guests also choose two activities a day from game drives and guided walks in Zambezi National Park, guided canoeing and sunset cruises, and anyone staying three nights or more is offered a full-day return trip to Victoria Falls.
