Changa Safari Camp

Changa Safari Camp is a small, family-owned tented camp on the shore of Lake Kariba, inside Matusadona National Park, with the Matusadona mountains behind it. It is the sister camp of The Hide in Hwange and is run by the same family. Eight East African style tents look out over the lake: six deluxe tents and two family tents, each with an en-suite bathroom, an outdoor bath and shower under the stars, and a private deck.

The main area is a lounge, dining room and bar joined by walkways, with a deck and an infinity pool above the water. Breakfast and lunch are served in the open-air dining room, and dinner on the front deck, on the beach or around the pool.

A stay here mixes land and water. Guided walks and game drives cover the lakeshore grasslands and the drowned forest along the shoreline, which draw elephant, buffalo and hippo, and boats go out for fishing, birding, sundowners and trips into the Sanyati Gorge. Every activity is led by a professional guide, and game walks are for guests aged 16 and over.

Stays are fully inclusive of meals and snacks, all drinks, laundry, wifi and activities. The camp runs on solar power, cellphone signal is very limited and there is no landline; wifi is available in the lounge. Children of all ages are welcome.
