Named after the African Hoopoe often seen on the farm, this stone-and-handmade-brick cottage is nearly a century old, restored with Spanish reed ceilings, antique oak furniture and a Charnwood wood-burning stove. The queen bedroom has 95% goose down duvets, electric blankets and a dressing table; the bathroom holds a walk-in shower, a deep vintage cast-iron bath and a heater. Fully equipped kitchen (oven, stove, fridge, microwave), open-plan living area with air conditioning, double-glazed doors onto the wraparound stoep, and a built-in braai for al fresco dinners. Self-catering, pet friendly.
