Sofala Game Farm

Sofala is a family game farm in the malaria-free bushveld of northern Limpopo, near the village of Tolwe. The same family has managed the land for more than forty years.

Guests stay in a thatched lodge looking out over the savannah, with a fire pit, a boma for evening fires, and a veranda where meals are served. A luxury chalet is also available, with its own kitchen, a heated pool set behind rock walls and a modern bathroom. Stays are all-inclusive: accommodation, meals, laundry, and transfers from Johannesburg's OR Tambo airport are covered, and food is cooked in a traditional South African style with South African wines.

The bushveld here carries good general game, and the waterholes draw gemsbok, kudu, nyala, eland, waterbuck and buffalo. Sofala is a BirdLife South Africa GoBirding partner. There are no guided birding walks; birding is done independently around the farm.

Please note that Sofala Safaris is a hunting outfitter, and the farm's packages are built around rifle and bow hunting safaris. A separate daily rate is published for non-hunting guests.
