Wolwedans Dune Camp

Wolwedans Dune Camp sits on a dune plateau deep in the private NamibRand Nature Reserve, a 220,000 hectare wilderness that is both an International Dark Sky Reserve and Africa's first Wilderness Quiet Park. Six canvas-and-timber tented rooms are raised on wooden platforms and open on all sides to grass plains, red dunes and the Nubib mountains beyond, with a star bed set up on your own deck for anyone who wants to sleep under the Milky Way.

The camp is small and unhurried. Days are shaped around the desert rather than a schedule: morning and afternoon scenic drives, sundowners on a dune, a full-day safari across the reserve, e-biking, a guided Bushman walk and the Heart and Home village tour that shows how Wolwedans trains and employs the people who run it. New interiors were installed in June 2026, and two guide tents were added in April for guides and pilots travelling with guests.

Rates are per person sharing and fully inclusive of all meals with house beverages, limited laundry, the stipulated daily activities and transfers to and from the Wolwedans airstrip. A family suite takes four adults with space for two children, and the whole camp can be taken on an exclusive-use basis with a private chef, guide and vehicle. Minimum stay is 2 nights and guests can arrive any day.
