Elephant-Human Relations Aid

Established in 2003, Elephant-Human Relations Aid (EHRA) works in Namibia's Southern Kunene and Erongo regions — one of the few places on earth where desert-adapted elephants still roam freely outside protected areas. Our mission is to reduce conflict between elephants and the communities they share water and land with, and to build a future where both can thrive.

We combine hands-on conservation — building protective walls around rural water points, tracking and identifying elephant herds, and monitoring movement patterns — with long-running education and training programmes for schools, game guards, tourism operators and farmers. From the PEACE Project and SEED environmental education initiative, to international volunteer and internship placements, every programme is designed to turn knowledge, infrastructure and empathy into lasting coexistence.
